Foundation Explained and Luke Walkthrough Continued

Where did my solid foundation go when I was away?  Did I get rid of it when I was pursuing Shelby and was deceived?  All that I know is that despite the circumstances God still loves me and has left a trail explaining more about who he is to me.  Did he even ask me to write my book?  What is my pursuit of the Holy Spirit hint at when it asked me to leave college?

Luke Walkthrough Continued

Next, I am continuing my Luke Walkthrough, this is the seventh part following after A Tree and Its Fruit. The passage is taken from the end of Luke Chapter 6 of The Book.

Building on a Solid Foundation

“So why do you call me ‘Lord,’ when you will not obey me?  I will show you what it is like when someone comes to me, listens to my teaching, and then obeys me.  It is like a person who builds a house on a strong foundation laid upon the underlying rock.  When the floodwater rise and break against the house, it stands firm because it is well built.  But anyone who listens and does not obey is like a person who builds a house without a foundation.  When the floods sweep down against that house, it will crumble into a heap of ruins.”

Around late February last year, I heard a loud voice telling me to go live with her by the end of a year’s time.  Obeying God’s voice is difficult, but was that the Holy Spirit or the tempter?  That voice attempting to marry us on the first day, was that too the tempter or was it God’s voice nudging me to do what I otherwise would not?

Lastly, all my experiences with Shelby will not be in vein and she was just as confused as I was.  I learned that the way I loved her so much was also how much God loved me.  He also loves each and every one of us this way and rejoices every time we grow or learn a new lesson.  So I will be posting the Agape Love List to remember what God has taught me.

Dwellers of Sexual Sin and Wisdom of Solomon

Wisdom of Solomon

If fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, how can you expect wisdom from those who do not share a respect for the Lord?  Atheists often believe Sex is God and revere it as such, foolishly.

The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:
for gaining wisdom and instruction;
for understanding words of insight;
for receiving instruction in prudent behavior,
doing what is right and just and fair;
for giving prudence to those who are simple,
knowledge and discretion to the young—
let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance—
for understanding proverbs and parables,
the sayings and riddles of the wise.
The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools despise wisdom and instruction.
Listen, my son, to your father’s instruction
and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.
They are a garland to grace your head
and a chain to adorn your neck.
My son, if sinful men entice you,
do not give in to them.
If they say, “Come along with us;
let’s lie in wait for innocent blood,
let’s ambush some harmless soul;
let’s swallow them alive, like the grave,
and whole, like those who go down to the pit;
we will get all sorts of valuable things
and fill our houses with plunder;
cast lots with us;
we will all share the loot”—
my son, do not go along with them,
do not set foot on their paths;
for their feet rush into evil,
they are swift to shed blood.
How useless to spread a net
where every bird can see it!
These men lie in wait for their own blood;
they ambush only themselves!
Such are the paths of all who go after ill-gotten gain;
it takes away the life of those who get it.

Dwellers of Sexual Sin

How do you deal with fools and sinful men?  I have lots of experience dealing with people like this.  Having dealt with a young lady crush who has slept with a superior to get another position at work and almost getting a straining order from another girl who lied about loving me.  Shelby was all about sleeping with me and lying to me.  And that young lady at work still delights in her sexual sin stealing as much she can from Ashley.

Not surprisingly, Sexual sin is everywhere at my work and they do not seek wisdom or seek correction from their ways and most definitely do not revere the Lord.  It is important for me to keep to myself, and surround myself with those willing to be corrected.  You should do the same.

Goodforjesusheart.net Logo Story

       Goodforjesusheart.net Logo Story

What happened while I was gone?  Why did I leave goodforjesusheart.net?  Me and Shelby broke up.  This gave me little or no direction on how I should write.  Lately, I have realized, despite my struggles with pride, and comfort in leaning on what the world tells me, I was doing the wrong thing away.

This week I had a Sam’s club shift for WIS, which means I ended up at Fridley around the time Voice of God Ministries was doing worship.  I had to use the restroom, and afterward I worshipped God with this colored crowd.  I could just feel the Holy Spirit, the voice I was ignoring and scared of all this time.   Why did it feel like God only wanted me in trouble?

While I was worshipping, I saw two posters on the wall.  One reminded me that salvation was God’s gift and it came from Grace and not by works, on the other hand, the other poster reminded me not to lean on my own understanding.

My own understanding, means nothing when God’s Wisdom is his gift to us.  I felt like it was really important to stop chasing after my own feelings and restore God to being the God of my life.  I feel inspired wait out the promises I heard and see if they are from him, and to follow the Holy Spirit more.

A new kid named Rodrigo, joined WIS a few weeks ago and when I showed him my website he was so impressed that it inspired me to write in it again.  He went to school for computer programing and dropped out so that he could sell his artwork more often at his studio.  I hired him to make the goodforjesusheart.net logo less fuzzy.  Soon this will be implemented and you will love how good the goodforjesusheart.net shortcut looks on your desktop.

Writing as God’s Word

Writing With God as my Helper

       Following and keeping track of God’s word throughout my life, I have learned to act and discern according to God’s Holy Counselor the Holy Spirit and worked side by side with him throughout all my writing toward her and the world.

       Meanwhile, this lead me to talk to my dad on the phone while I was in the principles’s office.  I was told repeatedly to leave her alone and we weren’t allowed to sit or talk to each other.

       God had already told me that she was the one and this was extremely painful!  It tore me apart!  Where was God?

       So I prayed and listened to God’s music!  I set the example I needed and fought back!  I was obedient every step of the way!

       Miraculously, by the end of the year she was sitting at my table for lunch!  As she looked toward me on her phone and talked about my writing her eyes were opened real big.  I loved the way she talked about my writing.

       I could see her love through her actions, in the risks she was taking for me.  I did not know that our relationship would continue, as God had planned but I had a seed of hope when I was full of despair.

       Throughout the upcoming nights, I gorged myself thin mint cookies at night.  And one day, it affected my ability to function and my blood sugar swung back and forth.

       That day at lunch, I was unable to stay awake and heard my friend Charlie say, “It looks like she really wants to sit by you!”  But I couldn’t get up!

       By the end of the lunch period; she breathed down my neck and it was the most beautiful moment I had experienced.  I was encouraged and I found hope that I could obey God.  I still feel closer to her as I grow closer to God and she still talks about my writing.  I also feel a separation from God when she isn’t nice to me or when I don’t talk to her enough.

       Check out http://www.desiringgod.org/messages/the-holy-spirit-author-of-scripture to discern God’s Holy Spirit in writing and to perhaps do your own some day through his great voice.

Salvation of Lydia

Salvation of Lydia

       After Paul has a vision in a dream, it takes him and Silas on a boat ride with Lydia.  Lydia is saved and offers them a home.

A Call from Macedonia

       Next Paul and Silas traveled through the area of Phrygia and Galatia, because the Holy Spirit had told them not to go into the province of Asia at that time.  Then coming to the borders of Mysia, they headed for the province of Bithynia, but again the Spirit of Jesus did not let them go.  So instead, they went on through Mysia to the city of Troas.

       That night Paul had a vision.  He saw a man from Macedonia in northern Greece, pleading with him, “Come over here and help us.”  So we decided to leave for Macedonia at once, for we could only conclude that God was calling us to preach the Good News there.

Lydia of Philippi Believes in Jesus

       We boarded a boat at Troas and sailed straight across to the island of Samothrace, and the next day we landed at Neapolis.  From there we reached Philippi, a major city of the district of Macedonia and Roman colony; we stayed there several days.

       On Sabbath we went a little way outside the city to a riverbank, where we supposed that some people met for prayer, and we sat down to speak with some women who had come together.  One of them was Lydia from Thyatira, a merchant of expensive purple cloth.  She was a worshiper of God.  As she listened to us, the Lord opened her heart, and she accepted what Paul was saying.  She was baptized along with other members of her household, and she asked us to be her guests.  “If you agree that I am faithful to the Lord,” she said, “come and stay at my home.”  And she urged us until we did.

Paul and Silas in Prison

       One day as we were going down to a place of prayer, we met a demon-possessed slave girl.  She was a fortune-teller who earned a lot of money for her masters.  She followed along behind us shouting, “These men are servants of the Most High God, and they will come to tell you how to be saved.”

Check out http://www.watchmanmag.com/0104/010415.htm for a higher understanding on the Lydia salvation debate.  Is God no respecter of persons?  I believe he shows great respect to those faithful to him, like the respect he showed David, far after his death.  Also, he shows respect to the Martyrs in Revelations and to everyone who believes in him who go to heaven.

Roommate Sins

Roommate Sins

Over last week at work, there was a lot of trouble with the lists that the motels had and who had which rooms.  This tested my patience and humility as well as the importance of keeping a watchful eye over my belongings.  I was also taught the importance of talking to those who I expected of the crime one on one.  This I failed at following someone’s bad example.  My roommate at the time, told me if I called the police they would have just done the same thing.

It is clear to me, however, that God would have wanted us to talk one on one first, that I failed at having my roommate nearby, and for that I feel guilty.  I also scammed Jerome when I had him give me $20 dollars for my lost food and I ended up getting it back.  Over my last posts for this week, It has become increasingly clear the importance of getting along with one another.  I believe I did the right thing by showing mercy to the man who stole my food for that is something Jesus would have done.  I needed the food, however, so I couldn’t let the man keep it, but he did end up eating some of my nuts and pop tarts, anyway.  The problem with that old man was within the very contents of his heart, he was a thief and a bad example one that no one in this site should follow.

On the second motel, I ended up waiting a long time and did not get to keep my roommate from the last motel, whom I really liked.  After the long period of waiting, I received a room with a single bed and had to live without a roommate.  A lady with a hard name to spell, also had to live by herself in a room like mine.  She also likes to tease me about Shelby and my stories.

As for me and Shelby when we live together at the end of that year, as God instructed me, I want us to inspire others just like these roommates did in the book based on a true story at http://www.jsonline.com/blogs/entertainment/275025981.html.

Fear: Being Dealt With

Dealing With Fear

       Shelby helps me out by helping me deal with my fear of losing her, which she still does from time to time.  She also removes me from phases of discouragement.

Chapter One:  Casts Out Fear

       The Bible tells us that perfect love castes out fear!  This is exciting news and brings hope for many!

1 John 4:18 (NIV)

       There is no fear in love.  But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment.  The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

       How do we get rid of our fears?  How are we made perfect in love?

1 John 4:17 (NIV)

       This is how love is made complete among us so that we will have confidence on the day of judgement:  In this world we are like Jesus.

       In this world, Jesus prayed quite a bit and when I do this I know I’m becoming a lot more like him!  It also helps me a lot when I am scared.

       For example, when God told me to write this book I was scared because I have a hard time finishing my ideas.  This is my first book and I am only 19.  However, I know that I am the one he has planned to do this work, so I know I will succeed.

       I pray every morning for God’s help and he humbles me.  He brings joy and passion to my my work!  He helps me hold on to his promises!  He also tells me that it is a five year contract, so it will take endurance and patience!  I love him so much!

       Next, I have my own testimony preceding the book about how God castes out my number one fear in my life.  To lose my wife!

       One day, God let a lying spirit talk to Shelby, planting a seed in her heart and causing her to doubt me and my ideas.  While she still loved me she got me into trouble with one of the school’s principles.  Looking back, I realize it also pulled me out of a discouraging psychology video that would have not been that great for me at that time.

Believers Getting Along

Believers Getting Along

       The following passage demonstrates how easy it is for believers to disagree about what their path with God should look like.

       “For it seemed good to the Holy Spirit and to us to lay no greater burden on you than these requirements:  You must abstain from eating food offered to idols, from consuming blood or eating meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality.  If you do this, you will do well.  Farewell.”

The four messengers went at once to Antioch, where they called a general meeting of the Christians and delivered the letter.  And there was great joy throughout the church that day as they read the encouraging message.

Then Judas and Silas, both being prophets, spoke extensively to the Christians, encouraging and strengthening their faith.  They stayed for a while, and then Judas and Silas were sent back to Jerusalem, with the blessings with the Christians, to those who had sent them.  Paul and Barnabas stayed in Antioch to assist many others who were teaching and preaching the word of the Lord there.

Paul and Barnabas Separate

       After some time Paul said to Barnabas, “Let’s return to each city where we previously preached the word of the Lord, to see how the new believers are getting along.”  Barnabas agreed and wanted to take along John Mark.  But Paul disagreed strongly, since John Mark had deserted them in Pamphylia and had not shared in their work.  Their disagreement over this was so sharp that they separated.  Barnabas took John Mark with him and sailed for Cyprus Paul chose Silas, and the believers sent them off, entrusting them to the Lord’s grace.  So they traveled to throughout Syria and Cilicia to strengthen the churches there.

Paul’s Second Missionary Journey

       Paul and Silas went first to Derve and then on to Lystra.  There they met Timothy, a young disciple whose mother was a Jewish believer, but whose father was a Greek.  Timothy was well thought of by the believers in Lystra and Iconium, so Paul wanted him to join them on their journey.  In deference to the Jews in the area, he arranged for Timothy to be circumcised before they left, for everyone knew that his father was a Greek.  Then they went from town to town, explaining the decision regarding the commandments that were to be obeyed, as decided by the apostles and elders in Jerusalem.  So the churches were strengthened in their faith and grew daily in numbers.

A Letter for the Gentile Church

The Gentile Churches receive a letter from the church in Jerusalem

In conclusion to the meeting; Paul has a message that he decided should still be sent to the Gentile church and the the elders, apostles, and all of the leaders of the church agreed.

There was no further discussion, and everyone listened as Barnabas and Paul told about the miraculous signs and wonders God had done through them among the Gentiles.

When they had finished, James stood and said, “Brothers, listen to me.  Peter has told you about the time God first visited the Gentiles to take from them a people for himself.  And this conversion of Gentiles agrees with what the prophets predicted.  For instance, it is written:

‘Afterward I will return, and I will restore the fallen kingdom of David.  From the ruins I will rebuild it, and I will restore it, so that the rest of humanity might find the Lord, including the Gentiles-all those I have called to be mine.  This is what the Lord says, he who made these things known long ago.’

And so my judgment is that we should stop troubling the Gentiles who turn to God, except that we should write to them and tell them to abstain from eating meat sacrificed to idols, from sexual immorality, and from consuming blood or eating the meat of strangled animals.  For these laws of Moses have been preached in Jewish synagogues for many generations.”

The Letter for Gentile Believers

       Then the apostles and elders and the whole church in Jerusalem chose delegates, and they sent them to Antioch of Syria with Paul and Barnabas to report on this decision.  The men chosen were two of the church leaders-Judas (also called Barsabbas) and Silas.  This is the letter they took along with them:

       “This letter is from the apostles and elders, your brothers in Jerusalem.  It is written to the Gentile believers in Antioch, Syria, and Cilicia.  Greetings!

       “We understand that some men from here have troubled you and upset you with their teaching, but they had no such instructions from us.  So it seemed good to us, having unanimously agreed on our decision, to send you these official representatives, along with our beloved Barnabas and Paul, who have risked their lives for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ.  So we are sending Judas and Silas to tell you what we have decided concerning your question.
